NATURAL BEAUTY

The stunning Capricorn Coast region stretches north from the mouth of the Fitzroy River to Stanage Bay and features more than 50 pristine beaches spread over 250kms of breath-taking coastline, secluded bays, rugged headlands and 30 magnificent tropical islands. 

From fascinating limestone caves to rainforest-edged creeks and waterways, green hills and the island-studded and stunning tropical wetlands, the Capricorn Coast region really does have it all. 

The fantastic natural beauty of our region is matched only by the vibrant coastal communities and range of services available to local businesses and residents including first class medical facilities. 

HEALTH SERVICES

The Capricorn Coast region is home to a broad range of local private practice medical services ranging from doctor surgeries, dentists, chiropractors, podiatrists and physiotherapists while the Yeppoon Hospital also offer the latest in 24 hour emergency medical services, midwifery services, postnatal home visiting, parenting support, paediatric clinics, immunisation and palliative care options. 

Queensland Ambulance Service operates three stations (all capable of 24 hour care) located in Yeppoon, Emu Park and Marlborough while the Rockhampton Base Hospital is only 30 minutes away. 

The Capricorn Coast is also home to two urban fire stations location in Yeppoon and Emu Park, while the outlying areas are serviced by 18 rural fire brigades located across the Shire.

EDUCATION

 SERVICES

The choice of schools and education providers in the Capricorn Coast region is exceptional. The region hosts more than 25 child care centres, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools (both public and private). Yeppoon is home to two nationally renowned boarding schools – St Ursula’s College and St Brendan’s College – which cater for male and female boarders from across Australia and overseas at fees substantially less than those charged in capital cities. 

 

Local students can pursue higher education through CQUniversity (CQUni) located 20 minutes’ drive away in Rockhampton. CQUni is Australia’s largest regional university and offers more than 300 university and TAFE qualifications through a range of flexible study options and practical learning experiences. Attracting international students to take advantage of the Capricorn Coast region’s close proximity to CQUni could lead to the establishment of an international student hub.
